This is the most intense moment of the series for me. This 17 year old boy that I’ve watched grow up has just learned moments earlier that in order to save the rest of his world, he has to die. And he’s accepted it. I can imagine what Harry’s thinking as he stands there, waiting for Voldemort to extend the hand of fate: he’ll finally get to be with his mum and dad, he’ll see Sirius again, and Dobby, and Hedwig. He’ll get to tell Fred the rest of the Weasleys are okay and give Lupin and Tonks hope that, even without them, their Teddy will grow up safe. He’s also probably thinking about how much he’ll miss Ron and Hermione but that they’ve got each other now that they’ve finally come together. And Ginny. She’ll understand and she’ll be fine eventually. She was probably his only regret. He would wish they’d had more time together. But giving her a world where she has more time-where everyone he loves has more time-is more important. He’s willing to sacrifice himself to finally put an end to Voldemort and his reign of terror.
He’s ready to die.
I’ve reblogged this at least 10 times and will continue to every time it comes on my dash. So beautiful.
